As of Wednesday, the University’s COVID-19 tracker reports 165 active cases within the University community, 120 of which are among students and 45 of which are among faculty and staff.
One Lawn resident said it is understandable that the University would not want some displays, such as misinformation, in a public space, but censoring Lawn students is not the correct approach.
This is the fifth shots fired report in the last three weeks.

A tornado warning issued for the City of Charlottesville at 11:24 p.m has since expired, with rotating storms associated with the remnants of Hurricane Ida passing through the region.
This incident marks the third timely warning sent out by Longo this fall.
