Squad eyes win at Georgia Tech

With placement in the ACC Tournament looming large in the minds of basketball fans across the conference, the Virginia men's basketball team travels to Atlanta today to face Georgia Tech in the second game of the year between both teams. The Cavaliers (13-13, 4-8 ACC) won 72-64 in Charlottesville earlier this year in a game that saw senior guard Mustapha Farrakhan post an ACC career-high 23 points and the team drain 10 shots from beyond the arc.

While most college basketball conferences are being run by a few powerhouses - Duke in the ACC, Texas in the Big 12, Ohio State in the Big Ten - there is one conference where parity abounds: the Big East.

Virginia nabs historic fourth ACC crown

The Virginia women's swimming and diving team collected its fourth consecutive ACC title this past weekend, becoming the first women's team in the history of the program to earn four titles in as many years. Virginia did not face an easy road to repeating as conference champions.

Wrestling: The Cavaliers cruised to a 38-7 road victory against George Mason Thursday as the team won eight of 10 bouts and tied a program record with its 18th dual win this season. Baseball: Junior pitcher Danny Hultzen starred on the mound and at the plate during Friday night's season-opening 6-4 win against Alabama-Birmingham by throwing 6.2 innings of one-run ball and knocking in two runs at the plate. Softball: The Virginia softball team (6-3) opened the East Carolina Pirate Classic by splitting a Friday doubleheader.
