Ferguson places sixth in NCAAs

As Spring Break came to a close and students returned to Charlottesville, the Virginia track team's Tomika Ferguson earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championships in Arkansas. Ferguson placed sixth in the triple jump competition, hitting a jump of 13.32 m and breaking her own school record by 12 m.

Six-run seventh inning wins game 10-3 for Cavaliers

The Virginia baseball team got out to a slow start, but they exploded in one big inning. After driving in six runs in the seventh, the Cavaliers blew out Dayton 10-3 to improve their record to 16-4 on the season. "It was a great win," Virginia coach Brian O'Connor said.

It was announced last night that the Virginia women's basketball team did not receive a bid to the 2006 NCAA Tournament and will be likely receive an NIT bid.In addition to conference champion North Carolina, six ACC teams accepted bids on Monday.
