Modernized 'Night' blends love, laughter

There's a festival blazing a trail through Charlottesville in the form of "Twelfth Night," the newest production from theatrical troupe Shakespeare on the Lawn. Shakespeare's play revolves around the Feast of the Epiphany, a yearly ceremony of partying and debauchery taking place on January 6, the "twelfth night" of Christmas.

Sharp direction drives Soderbergh's 'Traffic'

"Traffic" does not waste any time getting to the gritty heart of the matter. Steven Soderbergh's drug drama is an epic dissection of the world of narcotics, one where the line between good and bad is almost completely obscured and one where the person next to you could be a user or a fighter - or maybe both. Adapted and updated by Stephen Gaghan and Simon Moore from the decade-old British mini-series, "Traffic" presents a compelling tapestry of carefully interwoven stories.

Erykah Badu steps back into the spotlight with a new turban and R&B vibe, all wrapped up in her latest album, "Mama's Gun." A long playing - 72 minutes to be exact - serpentine fusion of R&B, jazz and soul, "Gun" follows the same road that artists like Lauryn Hill, The Roots and Bob Marley once traveled.
