There's nothing quite like a leisurely Sunday Brunch. A relaxed pace. A gorgeous spring morning burning the dew away on the golf course outside.
"Albemarle County: Where the country still is." This was the saying on one of the posters that decorated the walls of C&O, our chosen restaurant of the week.
Picture this. It's finally a nice day here in the 'Ville, and you decide to go running -- big shocker.
Over the course of the year, we have taken you, (or, ahem, ourselves, but wrote about it for you) to a plethora of unique, gourmet, elegant restaurants throughout the Charlottesville area.
It's not the end of the world, but it sure is the end of an era. Sadly, fourth years, before we know it, we too will be making our storied and long-awaited final trek down the historic Lawn during our very own Commencement ceremonies. And while for most, this surely is not a highlight to look forward to, the "required" post-graduation fancy dinner is something to put on your to-do lists. Time quickly is running out, and reservations are going fast.
One would think that finding gourmet sandwiches in a gas station would be a rare find. However, as the phenomenal restaurant reviewers/detectives we are, we found just that gas station.
It is almost March of our fourth year. It is a hectic time, and one element that continues to add to this anxious stage in our lives is the fact that come May 16, 2004, we, as fourth years, will be on our own. While some of us have secured jobs, others of us have not.
We'd both been very good this week. Our schedules showed religious outings to the gym -- you know, the kind that seem to show up on everyone's calendars the weeks before Spring Break.
Most years, Valentine's Day is plain old awful. Watching happy couples exchange gifts of candy and roses and all those public displays of affection can send some into post-holiday depression.
The situation: You wake up Sunday morning/afternoon after a fun, but fairly rough, weekend. The ritual: Breakfast with the roommates to recap the happenings and debauchery of the weekend.
