ONE NEED only spend a few minutes on Grounds to realize that the University is a very different place to go to school.
FRIDAY I was humbled to begin a one-year term as the student member of the Board of Visitors. For no particular reason, the work and role of the student member has been largely and traditionally opaque to the student body.
AS THE former Chair of the Honor Committee, I have seen the best and worst of the honor system and the community of trust we live in.
"WE HAD an honor system at my high school, but then everyone kept cheating and it went away." These are the words I heard from a group of incoming first years as I was introducing the University's honor system to them earlier this summer.
