The right to clean air

I AM NOT a smoker. In fact, I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. That being said, I am appalled at the latest attempt by the Virginia Senate to act in loco parentis by banning smoking in most privately owned restaurants and bars.

All good things...

THREE AND a half years ago, before I was a part of The Cavalier Daily, I would get annoyed when the paper was not in production after holidays and during exam periods.

THE Boy Scouts of America are again under fire. The latest volley comes in the form of the settlement of a 1999 lawsuit brought by the ACLU against the Department of Defense.

Marriage's mandate

IN ADDITION to giving President Bush a strong mandate to rule for a second term last Tuesday, voters in 11 states affirmed their belief in traditional marriage values.

Four more years

IT SOMETIMES feels like this campaign has gone on for hundreds of years. Granted, this campaign has gone on for years, so this feeling is not entirely without just cause.
