Become a Googley ninja

We generally use Google as a search engine. We look for things such as, "how to get a six-pack like David Beckham." We may scan the list of results and try, try, try to find the key to landing Posh Spice. Google handles that moment in our lives incredibly well, but that's not all it offers. Because Google is a research tool, a place to find information about anything and everything that will help us pass our papers, it has naturally got a few tricks up its sleeve to help us in our quests. Actually, one of the best research strategies is not to use the front page of Google at all.

How to read for pleasure

I honestly miss reading for pleasure once school begins. Every time I pick up a book or a magazine after classes resume, I suddenly feel guilty because I should be doing work.

Put some giddy-up back into your slow computer

For a while, I've been the person my friends go to for tech support. They've got a virus or just lit their computer on fire or something, so they call me and panic, hoping I can somehow, magically, just fix it. More than anything, this is the problem I get: "My computer's slow!" It's taking three-and-a-half hours to boot his computer and 11 minutes to open a browser - it's not a pretty picture.

Getting organized this semester, online, for free

Being back at school means we're back in classes, back in club meetings and back in the library. We've constantly got things going on, and it's easy to get overwhelmed by it all, but it's also easy to stay in control of - if you've got the right tools.
