After splitting with conference rival North Carolina last week, the Virginia swimming and diving teams hope to push on towards the postseason with a dual meet tomorrow against Duke at 1 p.m.
When Virginia wins a swim race, the noise in the Aquatic & Fitness Center rivals the roar at Scott Stadium.
A week after trouncing West Virginia in their season opening meet, the Virginia swimming and diving teams return to the pool to face James Madison today at 5 p.m.
After posting successful seasons in the spring, Virginia tennis players Brian Vahaly and Huntley Montgomery earned national collegiate preseason rankings for the 2000-01 season. Vahaly is ranked third in the nation for singles and Montgomery is 27th.
To further educate students about black leaders in American history, the University's Institute for Public History and the Darden School have teamed up to work on an innovative program entitled "Explorations in Black Leadership." With videotaped interviews from prominent black leaders as well as a public forum to be held next Wednesday, the project hopes to teach the community about civil rights and leave a legacy for generations to come.
