Fridays always have been popular choices for student organizations to host events. After all, what better way to start the weekend? Third-year College student Daniel Garner is tapping into this idea with his latest brain child, called "Fridays at Five." Still in its conceptual stages, Garner's project hopes to bring different student organizations together every Friday at 5 p.m.
The Corner has many dining options; nearly every step brings another restaurant awning, another chalkboard full of lunch specials and bar menus.
Sterling Payne, a local Charlottesville kindergarten student, was busy using a stick to stab colorful leaves among the dozens of pumpkins spilling across the grass. "Look, Mom!" he shouted.
"The trash cans are too small," first-year College student Greg King said. "Yeah, all of these guys have the unlimited meal plan," first-year Virginia Landers said, playfully gesturing to King and fellow first-year College student Daniel Eustace, "so their trash cans are always overflowing with take-out boxes."
