When I visited home this past weekend, I spent time examining the trophies lining my bedroom shelves from various sports and hobbies of my past — dusty, neglected and forgotten.
These episodes happen all too frequently, as daydreaming has become a cognitive waste of time and a hindrance to my productivity.
To this day, “Drops of Jupiter” remains the most meaningful song in my life. It’s the first song I play when I come home from college to a dusty piano.
It was a frigid Friday night and Littlejohn’s was the only thing on my mind between 2 and 3 a.m.
In my college journey thus far, I’ve learned that we tend to think of things in the moment rather than view the master plan. We think one bad grade is the end of the world, or if we’re unhappy where we are, we can’t change it.
Earlier today, I was listening to my 90’s playlist on Spotify – no shame.
I gaze into the majestic evening horizon from the top of the Empire State building. Biting my lip, I peer down at the thousands of feet beneath me.
