UBE governs the main democratic avenue through which student candidates and voters can express their unique concerns about the University.
The Echols Scholars Program should require a limited amount of advanced general education requirements.
Undeniably, having such barriers to entry for the University’s nightlife explicitly squashes fun.
Basically, if students are not saying what the University wants, then the University jumps to censorship. That does not sound like the makings of the best school in the nation for free speech.
While the theory of student self-governance is radical, turnout in elections points to an unfortunate lack of student involvement.
The University must take responsibility for the inaccessibility of Grounds and work to promote accessibility for all students despite misguided laws.
Simply put, Virginia is — and must continue to be — a safe haven for women in the South who are seeking reproductive healthcare.
The University must restoratively respond to these failures, locating tangible solutions to a system that continues to mistreat and undervalue the graduate student community.
Virginians should applaud this new project which ensures greater transit equity and improves Virginia's overall train infrastructure.
