Fresh off of an ACC Tournament title, the Cavaliers look to continue their fine form in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
As the sixth seed, Virginia became the lowest-seeded team ever to win the conference tournament.
No. 7 Virginia field hockey team started the ACC Tournament in impressive form with a 6-3 win over No. 11 Boston College. It is the Cavaliers (13-7, 3-3 ACC) second consecutive win.
No. 8 Virginia suffered another disappointing defeat Tuesday in its 2-1 loss to No. 3 Maryland (14-3, 6-1 Big 10). The Cavaliers (11-7, 3-3 ACC) dominated the game but were once again unable to get the result.
Following a disappointing overtime defeat to No. 7 Louisville (15-3, 3-3 ACC), No. 9 Virginia (11-6, 3-3 ACC) looks to respond against yet another top-10 opponent.
No. 9 Virginia suffered its sixth loss of the season Friday night in Charlottesville to No. 7 Louisville.
The No. 9 Cavaliers (11-5, 3-2 ACC) head into the contest in impressive form, having won seven of their last eight games, including their last three straight.
The victory over Richmond marks the Cavaliers’ (11-5, 3-2 ACC) seventh win in its last eight games.
The No. 10 Virginia field hockey team is looking to win its third straight game, and seven of its last eight when they play Richmond Tuesday. The win would add to a strong stretch of play for the Cavaliers (10-5, 3-2 ACC).
